A leather keychain is an ordinary object, which is exactly why it works. It lives on a bag or a key ring and is handled without being looked at, so a pet’s face on it stays present in a way a framed photograph does not.
Two Faces, Two Treatments
The front of the aluminum plate takes a color photograph. The reverse takes an engraving — usually the pet’s name and dates. Both are cut into or printed onto the plate rather than applied as a sticker, so nothing lifts at the corners after a few months of handling.
